As per title, it seems what a company named Lytro is promising. They are developing a camera that is able to eliminate the common “out of focus” mistake that we sometimes make in shooting photos. The resulting photo taken by their light-field camera is able to retain information that is normally lost in traditional camera such as color, intensity, and vector direction of the rays of light.
In the following photo, you can actually change the point of focus by clicking anyway on the scene that you want focus on.
This technology is very useful especially when you are shooting in a crowded place, or when you are asking a random stranger to shoot a photo of you and your friends at a tourist site, without fearing that the photos will turn out of focus.
More examples below.
If you noticed, the photos aren’t really have infinity focus point. Instead, it is able to focus no more than 5 focusing levels. But I guess it’s just a matter of time before such technology be invented.
Will you use such camera?
